Description

As a versatile guitarist and composer in the fields of experimental rock, avant-garde jazz and noise, Mary Halvorson has been a prominent figure in New York’s Downtown scene for years. She has worked with Anthony Braxton, Jason Moran and Elliott Sharp, playing music with a harsh, powerful and complex aesthetic. In her latest project »Code Girl«, Halvorson’s musical interests condense into meandering, labyrinthine songs. At the centre of the formation is the voice of Amirtha Kidambi whose chosen genres are classical Indian music, drone and free jazz.
