The Eppendorf Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1991, is based in Hamburg. It is made up of around 70 ambitious amateur musicians who meet once a week to rehearse. Twice a year the orchestra performs at various concert venues in Hamburg and the surrounding area. The repertoire ranges from baroque to modern classical music. The Eppendorf Symphony Orchestra enthusiastically accompanies renowned soloists in the interpretation of concertos. Highlights for the orchestra members are the concerts in the great hall of the Hamburg Laeiszhalle. There, the orchestra performed the oratorio »Elias« by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and »Ein deutsches Requiem« by Johannes Brahms, among others. On three concert tours, the Eppendorf Symphony Orchestra performed in Istanbul, Stockholm and Porto. The Eppendorf Symphony Orchestra has been led by Hamburg conductor, composer and horn player Thilo Jaque since 2016.
