The future of Indie funk

Bilderbuch, Von Wegen Lisbeth – and now rosmarin? The Indie funk band from Kassel well on its way to conquering the German pop landscape. Named after their favourite snack van, they sing about Gen Z’s attitude to life. In the young people’s and school concert at the Elbphilharmonie, they not only showcase their current songs, but also connect them to the theme of the »Future« at the Hamburg International Music Festival taking place in May. Just at the start of February 2025, rosmarin gave a sold-out concert at the Hebebühne in Hamburg as part of their first German tour – the five musicians find their songs belong right here: »Our music comes over so much better live than on record – this motivates us. For that reason, we are also really perfectionist in the rehearsal room and endlessly tinker with details so that everything is in place onstage«, says Silas de Jong, the band’s singer. Guided by the Elbphilharmonie education department, young people have devised and organised these concerts in the workshop series »How to Concert« – because they know best how to inspire their peers. The vision of the workshop team? A concert that makes you feel good!
