The four young members of the Nevermind ensemble are specialists in the sound of the French classical period. The group’s first CD was dedicated to the music that once would have been heard played in the aristocratic salons of the French capital in the 18th century: quartets for flute, violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord. With his twelve Paris Quartets, Georg Philipp Telemann proved that he too was a master of this style.
Telemann composed the first volume of these quartets even before his visit to Paris, an experience that had a huge influence on his creative output; a second volume of »new quartets« went to press while he was still in Paris. Telemann certainly knew what the Parisians wanted to hear.
