Gilbert on the viola

Chief conductor Alan Gilbert cuts a fine figure on his instrument, as well as on the rostrum. We know that at the latest since he appeared in a sextet together with members of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra last season. Now the trained violinist picks up his viola again to play chamber-music gems by Dvořák and Beethoven written for a larger ensemble.
