Description

In Chinese philosophy, the mouth organ known as a sheng is symbolic of harmony, life and the singing phoenix. The sound it resonates, it is said, is like the song of that mythical bird: silver and fleeting like the wind. Wu Wei is a master at allowing this song to ring out. The NDR Bigband first heard this »birdsong« three years ago and is delighted to be reuniting with the Chinese musician in the Elbphilharmonie.
