Description

Repeated ovations at his most recent appearance in the Laeiszhalle led Maurizo Pollini to extend his gratefulness in the form of four impressive encores. Seeing as this most recent appearance took place in November 2007, it is about time that the Italian star pianist returns to Hamburg.

His interpretations are a beautiful balance of intellect and effervescence - especially of Polish National Hero Chopin, with whom he conquered Europe over 50 years ago as »Miraculous Pollini« (Joachim Kaiser). In the conquest of his future wife, Clara, Robert Schumann, in turn, had to battle with the resentment of her father. In the end, freedom of love prevailed.
