Description

The composer Claudio Monteverdi is regarded as the founder of opera and oratorio. In 2017 the music world celebrates his 450th birthday. Thomas Hengelbrock and his Balthasar Neumann Ensemble have taken this as an opportunity to present Monteverdi’s »Vespro della Beata Vergine« (Vespers of the Blessed Virgin). This jewel of sacred music will be performed on the basis of historically informed performance practice at the Laeiszhalle.
