Description

With roots in Bengal, Bishi is at home both in classical Hindustani music and in the European club scene, and has appeared alongside artists such as Yoko Ono, the Kronos Quartet und the London Symphony Orchestra. In her audiovisual show »Let My Country Awake«, the sitar, electronic sounds and her voice revolve in loops around subjects like origin, identity and a sense of belonging.

The second half of the evening is put on by another crossover artist of British electro-pop. Birmingham-born sound inventor and label founder Nerm is a pioneer of the Asian underground scene that combines Western dance beats with traditional music from South-East Asia. The result are the finest grooves that fill dancefloors and clubs the world over.
