Since her debut album »Dark Energy«, the American composer Jlin has caused a stir with every release. In 2023, she was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize with the album »Perspective«, which she composed for the ensemble Third Coast Percussion. For her latest album »Akoma«, Jlin has collaborated with music legends such as Björk and Philip Glass, proving once again that she is one of the most exciting and influential musicians in the US. She skilfully combines classical and electronic influences to create her unique, driving music. Given the rhythmic, percussive sounds, it comes as no surprise that Jlin worked in a steel mill before her musical career. Yet moments of elegance and beauty are so convincingly woven into these raw sounds that models have even walked the catwalk to Jlin’s music at fashion shows.
