Haspa-Neujahrskonzert / New Year’s Concert
Symphoniker Hamburg / Martha Argerich / Ion Marin
Martha Argerich has achieved the unchallenged status of a legend decades ago, and is loved, celebrated and venerated the world over. She now returns for a guest performance with the Symphoniker Hamburg for the first time in 40 years and plays a grand and imposing masterpiece: Liszt’s First Piano Concerto – both a symphonic composition and a homage to dexterity at the same time. Under the leadership of guest conductor Ion Marin, the other works performed include Brahms’ First Symphony and Dvořák’s »Carnival«.
