Nils Frahm and the French musician Woodkid have endowed the film »Ellis« with an intense atmosphere, using sparing instrumentation and soundscapes so subtle, they are almost imperceptible. All the proceeds from the film have gone to the »Sea-Watch« initiative, which rescues refugees in distress on the Mediterranean. There are few more suitable locations for showing this film than the Emigration Museum BallinStadt Hamburg.

Please note: The film will be shown twice an hour on the three days of the festival, on and at half past the hour, from 10:00 to 17:30. Admission is free.

The Emigrants' Museum BallinStadt shows the history of immigration to and emigration from Hamburg over four different eras. Over an area of 2,500 m² in three buildings, the visitor accompanies people on their journey to a new home and learns about all the wishes and dreams they took with them. The exhibition also showcases shipping magnate Albert Ballin, who built the emigration halls in 1901 to accommodate the thousands of people from all over Europe waiting to depart to America.
