Description

With virtuosic interpretations that are at times lyrical, at times downright breathtaking, the saxophonist Anna-Lena Schnabel is the most successful jazz newcomer of the year. In her own compositions, Schnabel likes to tell stories. Her first album, in which she nimbly switches between traditional and modern jazz, is about »Bottles, Books & Bamboo«. That album recently earned her an Echo Jazz Prize. Having studied music in Hamburg and earned her spurs in local clubs, she now also performs at the city’s International Music Festival.
