Unter den rund 50 Opern Antonio Vivaldis ist die über die Fehde zwischen dem tatarischen Herrscher Tamerlano und dem türkischen Sultan Bajazet eine seiner effektvollsten. Komponiert für die Karnevalssaison 1735, ist sie mit zahllosen Bravourarien gespickt. Wobei Vivaldi dafür nicht nur eigene Vokalstücke aus älteren Werken recycelte, sondern sich – wie damals üblich – auch bei Kollegen wie Johann Adolph Hasse bediente. In einer konzertanten Best-of-Aufführung präsentiert der italienische Alte-Musik-Maestro Ottavio Dantone das klangbarocke Macht- und Liebesdrama nun in Auszügen.
Mit dabei hat Dantone natürlich sein fulminantes, auf die historische Aufführungspraxis abonniertes Kammerorchester Accademia Bizantina. Und die großen Gefühle und Machtspielchen, die sich wie ein roter Faden durch »Tamerlano« ziehen, gestaltet ein handverlesenes Sänger-Ensemble. Für die Titelpartie steht der weltweit gefeierte Countertenor Filippo Mineccia bereit; Star-Bariton Bruno Taddia als Bajazet ist auch von der Stimmlage her der ideale Gegenspieler.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.
We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
