Description

Rarely do a conductor and an orchestra have such a symbiotic relationship as Paavo Järvi and »his« Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. »There is this willingness to dig even deeper and elaborate on the smallest details. That is what I love about this orchestra: It is as obsessed as I am,« Järvi says about their close bond.

The charismatic Estonian has been the artistic director of the orchestra since 2004 and they have performed together to great acclaim in leading concert halls around the world. The partner orchestra of the Elbphilharmonie Konzerte continues its successful Laeiszhalle residency in this season. Guest performers, who have also become close friends, play crucial roles in the concerts this season: the Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires, for example, or conductor Trevor Pinnock, a leading figure in the world of early music. The series is rounded off by Brahms’ Double Concerto, performed by violinist Christian Tetzlaff and his sister Tanja, solo cellist with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
