The different facets and qualities of a voice can still be best enjoyed in an intimate song recital focused entirely on the music. No wonder outstanding singers are especially fond of this art form, and go to lengths to cultivate it. Gerhaher's Mahler programme, however, calls for a more spacious setting – the atmospheric Laeiszhalle.
