In »Jazz at the Phil«, the new series in the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall, superstars find a worthy and acoustically perfect setting for their art and – thanks to the hall's »vineyard« design – audience members can be close to the action.

One of the highlights of the series is a joint performance by the French accordion virtuoso Richard Galliano and the almost 80-year-old legendary bassist Ron Carter, who together build a bridge between America and Europe.

Star saxophonist Branford Marsalis brings not only his quartet to the Elbphilharmonie, but also special guest and vocal improviser Kurt Elling.

Finally, the piano as focal point of this series is presented by fusion pioneer Chick Corea together with Brad Mehldau. Mehldau is the first jazz musician to perform a solo concert in the Elbphilharmonie (in January) and returns later in the season with his widely acclaimed trio.
