Omar Sosa

Omar Sosa & NDR Bigband

A quintessential line-up for the »Transatlantic« Festival: legendary Cuban pianist Omar Sosa presents his latest project »es:sensual« together with the NDR Bigband.

Omar Sosa is an expert on the African roots of Latin American music. After his first collaborative project with the NDR Bigband (»Ceremony«) was promptly awarded the ECHO Jazz Prize, Sosa has now selected some classics from his extensive compositional oeuvre for »es:sensual«.

Together with the Brazilian arranger and cellist Jacques Morelenbaum, Omar Sosa moulded them into a new sound format: »I want to show my electronic side, as well as the Afro-Cuban one,« explains Sosa.
