Elbphilharmonie Family Orchestra

The members of the join-in ensemble broadcast a concert from their own living rooms.

Everyone does as well as he can: the Elbphilharmonie Family Orchestra is a colourful and musical big family. People from three different generations play together here under the baton of conductor Christine Philippsen, among them many parents with their children.

Coronavirus meant that the big final concert of the 2020/21 season couldn't take place as planned – but that doesn't mean it has to be cancelled completely. The 75 members of the join-in ensemble present extracts from their programme in a concert film of a special kind: the musicians recorded themselves playing at home, and then assembled the individual clips to produce a video. One thing's for sure: this energetic orchestra won't let itself be deprived of the chance to make music together!
