Sir Antonio Pappano

Sir Antonio Pappano likes to have his cake and eat it: the British musician with Italian roots who grew up in the USA is chief conductor of Britain's biggest opera house, Covent Garden, and at the same time of Italy's leading symphony orchestra, the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. And he also has a liking for unusual repertoire: in Hamburg he conducts no less than three different concert programmes.
