Einen Tag lang diskutieren Musikwissenschaftler und Komponisten, junge kluge Köpfe wie Sarah Hankins und erfahrene Experten wie Edwin Seroussi von der Universität Jerusalem oder der Hamburger Reinhard Flender. Das Symposium richtet sich nicht nur an Akademiker, sondern auch an interessierte Laien. »Sounds of Israel« presents the Symposium »Intercultural Adventure: Music in Israel« in cooperation with the Bucerius Kunst Forum and supported by the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius. Musicologists and composers will attend this one-day symposium.The issues covered: a survey of the musical expression of such a multi-faceted country as Israel. The influences on pop music, the development of art music and an assessment of the influence of politics on cultural life. The symposium is open to the public.
