Story-Teller
Elbphilharmonie PLUS – Hamburg International Music Festival
Dialogue for peace
Three delicious courses, three brilliant women, three inspiring encounters – that is the concept of Story-Teller, a social dinner that brings people together to get talking in a relaxed atmosphere. The theme of the meal this time is »peace«, a topical issue that is of universal importance for how we live together in society and for developments on the global stage.
Musical seasoning is provided by the Duo Schriefl-Rummel, which consists of the multi-instrumentalists Matthias Schriefl and Simon Rummel. They blend various folk music traditions from Russia, Ukraine and Israel with the freedom of jazz improvisation. If you know your own tradition and culture, you can also be more open to foreign cultures; only if you know where you come from can you know where you want to go. That’s why the two of them also focus on Alpine folk music and German Renaissance songs.
Story-Teller is thereby the perfect foretaste of the Dakh Daughters from Kyiv, who – with their programme »Ukraine Fire« in the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall on 15 May 2024 – add a musical voice to the protest against the war in Ukraine. Their »freak cabaret« – as they call their music – is an exciting blend of punk, rap, pop, rock, classical and elements of Ukrainian folk.

HADLEY's is a bar and salon at the same time. Selected wines and drinks, evening meals and stews, cheese and bacon from Tyrol and salon evenings on Mondays make HADLEY's a second living room and meeting place. For over 25 years, hostess Tina Heine and her team have been striving to give guests a good time with a small fine selection of food and drinks in what is probably the nicest bar in town. Regular cultural events round off the offer.
