Music for life

»Beethoven raises issues of interpretation, and the answers not only have consequences for music, but also for life,« writes Christian Thielemann in his very personal book »Meine Reise zu Beethoven« (My Journey to Beethoven), which was published in October 2020. A life without Beethoven seems simply unimaginable for the famous conductor. Lucky it is still Beethoven Year, then, and that his work is full of new things to discover and familiar things to enjoy – even as we mark his 251st birthday!
