Lauded as »the soul of the Spanish guitar«, Pablo Sáinz-Villegas has become a global sensation and is known as one of the great guitarists of his generation. He has been celebrated by the international media as a successor to Andrés Segovia and as an ambassador for Spanish culture around the world. Plácido Domingo, with whom Villegas has collaborated a number of times, has been hailing him as a »master of the guitar« ever since they began their collaboration. Villegas now comes to the Elbphilharmonie with a purely Spanish programme.
