Two masterpieces in one package

This concert features two masterpieces of Romanticism and early Modernism: star violinist Lisa Batiashvili invites you to experience moments of musical bliss with Tchaikovsky’s dreamlike – and highly demanding – violin concerto. The second half of the concert takes us on a musical adventure alongside the legendary hero Lemminkäinen. Jean Sibelius immortalised this »Finnish Don Juan« in a sparkling suite that accompanies him on his journey through romantic adventures, courtship, death and resurrection. With Klaus Mäkelä and the, we can look forward to a well-rehearsed team that will have earned its Sibelius spurs by 2022 at the latest with an acclaimed recording of all the Finnish composer’s symphonies.
