Description

»Every country should have a lively and passionate orchestra like the Cadaqués. It is an ensemble with Mediterranean roots but a cosmopolitan attitude, and that makes it quite unique,« said Sir Neville Marriner, describing the Orquestra de Cadaqués, which he conducted several times after it was founded in 1988, most recently as honorary conductor. The orchestra’s principal conductor for several years now has been the Italian Gianandrea Noseda, who has made a name for himself with both symphonic music and opera. The programme that the Orquestra de Cadaqués performs under his baton at the »Elbphilharmonie Summer« festival combines all these qualities: singing, folk music, passionate and infectious melodies.
