Description

Nikolaj Znaider will never forget the year 1997: not only did the Danish violinist win the fiercely competitive Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels aged 22, but he was also named successor to violin legend Eugène Ysaÿe by the great violinist Yehudi Menuhin. Since then, Znaider proves this honour correct time and again on his Stradivarius »ex-Liebig« from 1704, both as soloist and enthusiastic chamber musician.

In this duo recital, Znaider is joined on stage by fellow musician friend and Polish master pianist Piotr Anderszewski, who is, with his extremely subtle, sensitive and fine playing, peerless in his field. They have made music together on countless occasions, for example, Znaider as a conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra with Anderszewski as soloist. These two outstanding musicians attract special attention in this chamber music evening that resounds with sonatas by the heavyweights Beethoven, Schumann and Janácek.
