Description

The Symphoniker Hamburg, orchestra in residence of the Laeiszhalle, enhances the opening week of the Elbphilharmonie with a »major work« – as Beethoven himself described his Missa solemnis. Like his famous Symphony No. 9, the Missa solemnis celebrates the values of humanity, and it marks a turning point in the history of church music. This is a change still felt today. The orchestra has engaged the very best soloists for this concert: Camilla Nylund, Sarah Connolly, Klaus Florian Vogt and Luca Pisaroni.
