Before Andreas Schaerer and his band »Hildegard lernt Fliegen« appear at the Elbphilharmonie, the affable Swiss musician has a date at the Bürgerhaus in the suburb of Eidelstedt. Together with the audience, he will be exploring the infinite and fascinating potential of the human voice through singing, hissing, chirping and whispering, yodelling and beatboxing.
»Hildegard lernt Fliegen« is not a children’s book for aspiring pilots, but an avant-garde jazz group from Switzerland. Terms like scat singing and beatboxing pale into insignificance when compared to the vocal skills of frontman Andreas Schaerer, which seem to surpass even the virtuosity of his famous teacher Bobby McFerrin. Find out for yourself on 12 November in the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall!
