A living legend

Joe Hisaishi is a living legend. His soundtracks for the award-winning films of Studio Ghibli and its creative mastermind Hayao Miyazaki have captured the hearts of millions of people around the world. With over 100 scores and numerous awards, he has made film music history and, at the same time, secured a firm place in the contemporary music world as a composer, conductor and pianist with his symphonies and piano works.

In autumn 2026, Joe Hisaishi will finally return to Europe. Hamburg is fortunate that his »World Dream« tour with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will also take him to the Elbphilharmonie! As conductor and soloist on the piano, the Japanese grand seigneur will present his new suite for the Oscar-winning Studio Ghibli film »The Boy and the Heron« as well as the European premiere of his newly composed concerto for orchestra.
