Jazz at the Kulturcafé
»Pericope« is a Greek term meaning »a series of verses that form a connected whole«. A description that could also apply to the music of pericopes+1. Originally founded as a duo by two Italians –Alessandro Sgobbio at the piano and Emiliano Vernizzi on the saxophone –, the formation was completed by the American percussionist Nick Wight in 2015. Their style is entirely inspired by contemporary New York jazz: original, intelligent and self-confident.
