United in Musical Dialogue

Dutch violinist Janine Jansen’s career took a notable leap forward in 2005 when she released a critically acclaimed recording of Vivaldi’s »Four Seasons«. Not only was the album an instant chart-topping download on iTunes but her exquisitely fresh interpretation of this timeless evergreen of the violin repertoire also found its way to listeners far beyond the usual confinements of the classical music world. This is exactly what we would have expected from a Jansen release. Widely respected for her open and communicative personality, this approachable artist believes music has the power to give people a deep sense of togetherness and connection by creating a dialogue between the musicians, the composer and the audience. In a musical conversation with the Camerata Salzburg, she brings together Baroque and contemporary compositions, opening the concert with the »Piccolo Concerto Grosso« by her Swiss friend and artistic partner Richard Dubugnon. There are no prizes for guessing what the final highlight of the evening will be.
