Description

Leonard Bernstein, who would have turned 100 this year, was without any doubt one of the most influential figures in 20th century music. He managed like no other to blur the distinctions between light music and highbrow culture and to welcome countless people into the ivory tower of classical music, without ever lowering his standards. Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 suits this perfectly – and recalls Bernstein’s heyday on the rostrum, conducting one of the world’s best orchestras.
