Description

The Fanny Mendelssohn Sponsorship Award is being conferred for the fifth time in 2019 – and this is being marked with a »Festival of Award Winners« concert. The trumpeter Tamás Pálfalvi, as a 2017/18 Rising Star, gave concerts in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls. Vera Karner (clarinet) and Dominik Wagner (double bass) are 2017 ECHO award winners, and Matthias Well (violin) stood at Number 3 in the official classical charts for six weeks with his album »Funeralissimo«. The winner of the Fanny Mendelssohn Sponsorship Award in 2018 is the cellist Christoph Heesch – his album »The Golden Age – Cello 1925« has been nominated for the International Classical Music Awards. This impressive line-up promises an innovative and explosive chamber concert. The winners will be accompanied in this concert by the celebrated Hungarian pianist Marcell Szabó.
