The composer, arranger and pianist Tobias Schwencke has varied musical tastes, ranging from Mozart and New Music to hip-hop. He is thereby a perfect partner for Ensemble Resonanz, who are always looking for a new musical adventure. After the success of the joint project »Mercy Seat – Winterreise«, in which Schubert met the rock-bard Nick Cave, they now turn their attention to another classic silent film, which will open the Elbphilharmonie Summer festival. In 1925, the legendary Erich von Stroheim directed »The Merry Widow«, a free adaptation of Franz Léhar’s operetta »Die lustige Witwe«, in the USA.
