On the crises of our age

The three biggest crises of our time – the coronavirus pandemic, the extinction of species and the climate catastrophe – are all closely interrelated and can only be solved together. For far too long, discussions about the environment remained abstract and theoretical – it was all about polar bears, sea levels and atmospheric chemistry, as if it was simply a physical problem for far-away regions and for the future. Eckart von Hirschhausen, doctor, science journalist and founder of the »Gesunde Erde – Gesunde Menschen« foundation, demonstrates the real threat posed by the climate crisis based on the functions of the human body.
