Description

The multi-talented Fabian Müller from Bonn, a pianist, conductor, and composer who has won numerous awards, has already given successful concerts with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under Paavo Järvi and Tarmo Peltokoski. He is continuing this collaboration with Jérémie Rhorer, who, in addition to being a much sought-after conductor, is also a harpsichordist, pianist, and composer. The concert at the Elbphilharmonie marks the grand finale of a Scandinavian tour featuring three symphonies by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and various piano concertos. The program begins with Tchaikovsky’s famous Piano Concerto No. 1, perhaps the most popular and most frequently recorded work of its kind. The second part features the tragic Fourth Symphony, which was dedicated to his friend Nadezhda von Meck. He entrusted her with a secret program that matched his desolate mental state: between deepest sorrow and visions of joy that he himself would never experience.
