Description

He is the new man on the rostrum of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin: Robin Ticciati. At the outset of the 2017/18 season, the 33-year-old British conductor takes over the baton from Tugan Sokhiev and becomes artistic director of the Berlin ensemble with so many years of tradition behind it. From Berlin’s Philharmonie, where the orchestra regularly appears, Ticciati and his crew travel to the Elbphilharmonie in February, where they will be testing the acoustics of the new concert hall together with Christian Tetzlaff in Sibelius’s incomparable violin concerto, Bruckner’s Sixth Symphony and Magnus Lindberg’s »Chorale«.
