Description

A warm sound, perfect balance, immaculate technique and enthralling interpretations – the Danish String Quartet delights audiences and critics the world over. As a classically trained string quartet – the four musicians studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen and with illustrious colleagues such as the Tokyo String Quartet and the Emerson String Quartet – they have the standard repertoire of Haydn, Beethoven, etc., readily available. But as their appearance in the »Blind Date« series shows, they also share a love of Scandinavian folk music – ancient tunes that they have unearthed in manuscripts, at weddings and in village inns from the island of Fanø to the Faroes.

Welcome to Blind Date! Here, anything is possible: groovy folk fiddle music, crossover string quartets, virtuosic live piano improvisation combining jazz and classical music. The imagination is boundless, but not when the surprise is revealed in advance! Included in a Blind Date ticket is a free drink - so that you can ask the evening’s artists at the bar what you just heard!
