Description

»I embrace the orchestra,« said Kirill Petrenko with warm enthusiasm when he accepted Germany’s most coveted conducting role. Previously the general music director of the Bavarian State Opera, Petrenko took over as chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic in summer 2019. His guest conductor concert last August was critically acclaimed: »What was revealed in this moment of glory […] was more than the magic of a beginning. This embrace will yield great things,« predicted ZEIT, thereby fuelling anticipation for the new chief conductor’s first official season. Conveniently, the Hamburg public need not even travel to Berlin to form their own opinion of this highly respected musical partnership!
