NDR das neue werk

Since it was founded in 1951, the »NDR das neue werk« concert series has been hot on the heels of the musical pulse of the times. To kick off the series this season, ensemble unitedberlin presents music by minimal music legend Steve Reich set to atmospheric film images. Soprano Johanna Vargas and violinist Ilya Gringolts dedicate themselves to Kartág’s touching Kafka settings. Exceptional pianist Tamara Stefonovich first devotes herself to strict form with Shostakovich and Boulez, before ending the concert with her jazz quartet. And Karlheinz Stockhausen, one of the most important composers of the 20th century, takes centre stage in the final concert.
