The international conductor carousel has been turning at full speed recently. Not only the Berlin Philharmonic has been searching for a new chief conductor; other famous orchestras have also been looking to fill their most important post. Riccardo Chailly returned to his home city of Milan as musical director of the legendary La Scala Opera House Orchestra. He and his musicians are now tasked with opening the »International Orchestras« series.

The series attracts the most highly respected orchestras from great music cities such as London, Vienna and New York for eight extraordinary concerts in Hamburg. They are accompanied by the best soloists of our time, including legendary violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, star cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and Daniil Trifonov, one of the most exciting young pianists of the new generation. The series is brought to a close by Germany’s No. 1 orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, with Bruckner’s Eighth Symphony conducted by Sir Simon Rattle – before he leaves the orchestra at the end of the season.

Please note that »Internationale Orchester« will appear on subscription cards.
