Just a few days prior to the opening of the Elbphilharmonie back in 2017, Sasha Waltz and her company danced their way through the foyers. Now this icon of contemporary dance is finally returning, with a project based around Terry Riley‘s ground-breaking minimal music composition »In C«. Ravi Coltrane and esperanza spalding devote their attention to the music of the recently deceased saxophone legend Wayne Shorter. In another highlight, the Queen of Americana, Rhiannon Giddens, walks in the footsteps of America’s long folk tradition, accompanied by her closest musical sidekicks. And the Kronos Quartet, always in tune with the times, celebrates its 50th birthday.
