Something to amaze music lovers and make music experts happy: this subscription package combines epoch-making works from recent music history, such as Friedrich Cerha’s »Mirrors«, an absolute monolith of 20th century music, and a world premiere for artist in residence Peter Eötvös. Then there is Hans Werner Henze’s »Raft of the Medusa«, which triggered a major scandal at its first performance in 1968. The series is rounded off by Hans Zender’s »Winterreise« (A Winter’s Journey), sung by the tenor and Schubert expert Ian Bostridge.
