Busy conductor Paavo Järvi was not originally planning to return to the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra this season. But the corona pandemic has necessitated a lot of rescheduling, so that the most sought-after member of the famous family of Estonian conductors can make a guest appearance in Hamburg after all. The programme features French composers of the early 20th century who wrote classically-inspired music with refined instrumentation that makes for perfect listening in times of corona.
