Listening Session with Bill Frisell

Before the renowned guitarist Bill Frisell takes to the stage to perform his unique music in four concerts with nine fellow musicians, he takes time out for a vinyl session and on-stage discussion by way of a warm-up for his »Reflektor« festival. In the Kaistudio, he plays his all-time favourite recordings that have shaped his music and continue to inspire him to this day. The intriguing question is: what does someone listen to whose own work ranges from folk to rock, classical to country and bluegrass?

The evening offers up a unique opportunity to take an acoustic look into the record cabinet of one of the great jazz guitarists of our time, in a cosy and relaxed setting. He shares his thoughts, perspectives and memories with Tom R. Schulz. The conversation will be in English.
