Weber: Overture from »Der Freischütz« / Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 3 / Brahms: Symphony No. 4
He made a name for himself on the violin and is now recognised as a top conductor: Riccardo Minasi has a passion for Early Music and authentic performing practice, but he is also enthusiastic about other exciting projects
Fans of period performance know Riccardo Minasi as a passionate violinist, in vibrant ensembles like Il Giardino Armonico, for example. However, his unusual blend of high tension and warm Italianità has long since ceased to be limited to four strings and a bow: he founded the ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro, took over the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra and made guest appearances on the rostrum of numerous other top orchestras. In 2014, Ensemble Resonanz invited Minasi for the first time and he has since been practically adopted as Principal Guest Conductor. This season they perform four concerts together, including a concert version of Bellini’s »Romeo and Juliet« opera, a follow-up production to their »Norma«, which met with an enthusiastic reception at the Elbphilharmonie. Minasi also makes his debut conducting the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, another ensemble full of brio.
