The Gurdjieff Ensemble & Hewar
Focus on the Caucasus
The Armenian Gurdjieff Folk Instruments Ensemble was founded by the pianist and composer Levon Eskenian to play »ethnographically authentic« arrangements of piano music by G. I. Gurdjieff. In this concert the ensemble teams up with the Syrian trio Hewar, which features clarinettist Kinan Azmeh, and which combines Arabic music with jazz and Western classical influences.
