Die Jahreszeiten / The Seasons
The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen / Hans-Christoph Rademann
First we hear the peasants dancing at the wine festival, then a thunderstorm breaks: in his oratorio »The Seasons«, Joseph Haydn used all the resources of tone painting at his disposal. After »The Creation« had been such a resounding success, »The Seasons« was his next big work for the concert stage, and its vivid depictions of nature make it one of the Viennese composer’s most popular pieces to this day. The brilliant musicians of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen invite the audience to join them on a musical journey from spring to winter at the Laeiszhalle, supported by the Gaechinger Cantorey under its choirmaster Hans-Christoph Rademann and three fantastic soloists. One of the latter is Swiss soprano Regula Mühlemann, who was awarded the German Record Critics’ Prize in 2017.
