Elbphilharmonie+ / Transatlantic Festival
Meet new people, ask compelling questions, eat delicious meals. Story Teller has been bringing people together for a communal dinner with this successful concept since 2016. Wanderlust, countries of origin and cultural roots are among the topics for this special edition of Story Tellers as part of the »Transatlantic« festival.

The Oberhafen Kantine was one of the last ones built in Hamburg, and is also the only one still standing: this rare, small, brick building built on the doorstep to Hamburg’s port by canteen manager Hermann Sparr in 1925 has become slightly tilted from decades of storm floods and washouts. The resulting damage and consistent danger of collapse forced the canteen to close its doors regularly. Restauranteur Sebastian Libbert took over management of the canteen in 2011.
